Windsor High School has a new principal!  As announced in May, current Principal, Stacy Desideri resigned from her role to pursue another opportunity which created an opening.  While there was concern about finding an exceptional leader to continue growing the successful programs and opportunities for students at WHS, the process was fruitful and brought forward a solid and impressive group of viable candidates.  One candidate clearly rose to the top for all stakeholder representatives involved in the interview process.

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Lamar Collins will be joining our WUSD community as Principal of Windsor High School, effective July 1, 2019.

Dr. Collins comes to us from Texas where he has served in the capacity as a High School administrator (Principal and Assistant Principal) for the last five years.  Dr. Collins had served a number of years, at the high school level, as a Science Teacher and Athletic Coach.  He also was an administrator in the healthcare industry.  Dr. Collins is known in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area as a radio talk show host and is known nationally for his motivational speaking on educational issues and the importance of student-adult relationships.  He is the author of a number of publications related to student engagement, effective instruction, and adolescent development.  In addition, Dr. Collins is a Veteran of the United States Army.

Dr. Collins received his Doctorate of Education degree at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, his Masters of Public Administration degree at Texas State University, and his Bachelor of Science (Biology and Exercise Science) degree at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Finally, Dr. Collins comes to WHS and the WUSD with an outstanding reputation as a visible, supportive and engaged/engaging leader, motivator, and student-centered educator.  Teachers, parents, students, colleagues, and supervisors have all attested to his ability to build and sustain a strong learning community inclusive of all stakeholders while focused on student success.  He’s also known throughout his current community for his love of his family (and as a model parent).

We welcome Dr. Lamar Collins to the Windsor and WUSD community!
